Bipolar Disorder, once known as manic-depressiveness, is often mischaracterized in popular media. It is marked by periods of mania and periods of depression. 

Bipolar disorder can be a serious mental disorder but with the right treatment, sufferers can live stable, successful lives. 

If left untreated, bipolar disorder can lead to increased suicidal tendencies and unhealthy lifestyle choices.

Understanding the disorder and when its episodes are oncoming is a key in increasing awareness as well as proper medication management.
